United Cutlery - First Class Operation
I just got back from my quick trip to Tennessee. I spent more time driving than I did there. I don't fly, but that's a topic for another time.
While I was up there, I had the pleasure of touring United Cutlery and their Factory. It is a first class operation. I was able to meet Kit Rae while I was there. I didn't tell him I'm not really into knives. Growing up around these things pretty much takes all the excitement out of them after a while. I do have a nice collection of older knives at home from when I was little. I'm getting off track here.
Any way, yes, I did say factory. For those of you who don't know, the owners of United have quietly opened a state of the art knife factory in the last couple of years. They are making some of the Harley Knives, the UZI knives and Ford knives among other things. It was quite an amazing operation. They took the tim to go over the process with me and were more than gracious with their time. I wish I would have brought a camera, but they probably would not have wanted me to post pictures any way.
So look out for more American Made knives next year. And who knows, maybe I'll get them to make a Valor knife of some sort.
