Valor Talk

So here we are... A couple of years after starting the original forums, they just seemd to lose their luster.  I noticed a lot of errors with logins in the old system recently and began to get emails from users that couldn't set up accounts for what ever reason.  It was free software, so there was no one to complain to.

This system is much more robust and I will probably be moving the blogs here soon. (Yes, blogs, I finally have some others here interested).

The best part is, I will have more of Valor's staff involved in this then the previous forum.  So that brings me to my question.  What would you like to see in the forums?  I have added the obvious categories, but what am I missing?

The forums look good, easy to navigate and little fuss.

It would be good to get the occasional input from the buyers/staff. Perhaps small introductions to new product/lines would be advantageous.

I think the categories are adequate you simply don't need a lot that in most get only a few posts a year.

Thanks for joining.. I wonder where everybody else is..

You will see more of the staff involved here now.  Once there is a little more traffic here, I will have them introduce themselves.

You will probably see more new product introductions in the blogs though.  I already have the "Behind the Scenes at Valor" blog up, and "Clyde's Corner" is Clyde's new Blog.  Clyde was in sales, but will soon be part of the purchasing team.   I may put up my own too, I'm just afraid I might get on one of my rants, although I haven't in a while.  I am working on getting others involved.  You will also see some sales staff involved too.  I know som are lurking here already.

As long as we get some of the users from the old forums and some new ones, I think this will be a much more informative experience compared to the old forums.

Hi Ben,

How about a category adjacent to the "New Items" category that has a weekly listing of discontinued items.  That discontinued items spreadsheet is getting pretty lengthy and when I download it, I can never remember where I last updated from.  A quick post on a (semi-)weekly basis to let us know about discontinued items might be helpful.

Thanks for all you do.  I like the new forum/blog/etc...nice layout, good functionality.

I added a link to the last 100 Deleted Items to the front page of each main category.  It's on the left side with the clearance items.  Hope this helps.
