    Order shipping speed - Wow!

    Ben,

     

    I just want to provide some kudos to you and your crew.  Over the last week or so, order shipping times have been greatly improved.  Very impressive job!  Thanks!

    Thanks.  We made some serious changes in the warehouse last week.  I will go into more detail when it is complete.

    Yes I am EXTREMELY happy with how fast things are going out the door now. I placed an order at 10am, and it has shipped already.. SAME DAY! Very nice.

    I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but there is no information from the 23rd to today (the 26th). Maybe the orders are being labelled shipped, but not really going out the door. Eh... no biggie. Just an observation.

    Wildernessden,

     I just tracked your order from the 23 and it does show scanned on the 24 (saturday), so it was picked up Friday, we aren't open Saturday.  We don't mark orders shipped unless they are going on the truck that day.

    I was thinking the same thing today.  It was nice while it lasted.  Ben...can we get things back to 1-2 days shipping?  I have several orders that are three days old right now and one that shipped on Tuesday that was a week old.

    Im on vacation this week. I'm answering this from my phone. apparently, even though we are already short due to vacations and surgeries (yes, more than one person in the warehouse is out for surgery right now) others have missed time this week too. It will all go back to normal next week when I get back. Actually it will be better because I have more of the new equipment that has sped us up the last few months.. sorry for the inconvenience this week.

    I guess the thing that is disappointing is here you are with all these ways to communicate with your customers and we never heard anything about possible shipping delays. Vacations and surgeries are generally scheduled in advance. Given that it seems likely that any reduction in the shipping department's workforce would result in at least some delays, I think a forum post or blog entry giving us a  heads up would have been appropriate. Also, the little red line in the order process is still claiming shipping in one business day. That information is really of little use if it isn't going to be accurate.

    I certainly didn't plan to have delays. I think we do agood job of communicating what's going on considering I'm trying tokeep you informed from my vacation. I could have just as simply posted 'sorry for the delay'. they are catching up from what i am told. they will catch up monday when i get back and we get some others back.

    Thanks for keeping us updated Ben. Last week was an amazing week with regard to order processing speed and catching up the backlog.  It's good to know that there was a reason for the delays the previous week and that things are back to the "new norm" of same day or next day shipping on every order that I placed over the past week or so.

    Thanks, but I won't be happy until you all don't have to think about it any more.  I have been putting new processes and equipment in place this last week, which was planned before the back up of a couple of weeks ago.  It's like a living thing.  When you all get busy, it seems you all get busy at the same time and we get slammed.  BUT THAT"S NO EXCUSE.. I want to measure the time it takes to get orders out in minutes or hours, never days..
