It would be cool if shipping confirmations could go directly to customers

It would be cool if shipping confirmations could go directly to customers

I was thinking, it would be really nice if there were some way to set things up so that when an item shipped from Valor, a copy of the shipping notification could be sent to the customer and APPEAR to be coming from our (dropshipper's) address.

For example, when placing an order and entering customer information there could be an optional e-mail field for the customer's e-mail address.  In an account set up page we could tell Valor what the return e-mail address should be (for example, shippingconfirmation@mysite.com) and Valor could then send the e-mail out with our company information replacing Valor's in the message once the item shipped.

Is this something that would be possible?  It just popped into my head reading the forum this morning, and I know for me personally it would save countless hours and stress.

     Thanks,

    Kris

I'll look into that.  We outsource our email now, so I don't know if I would be able to use an alias (your email) as the sender.  That is a good idea though.

While we're talking about email formats and such...

Can customer shipping information (at least Ship To Name) get added to the "Your order has been shipped from Valor" emails to help me with looking up the order to update in my database?
